Social ConcernsText Box: Social  Concerns History
In 1991 a group of parishioners formed a social ministry committee. Rooted in prayer and based on the belief that we must work for justice and peace in our neighborhoods, communities, nation and world, we believe our parish will be measured by the way we help the hungry, the homeless, and the troubled.

Text Box: Where does the First Sunday Food Collection go? Our monthly food and household item collections go to Ladies of Charity to help replenish their food pantry.

Who else do you support? We make donations to Catholic Social Services, Madonna House, Ladies of Charity, Salvation Army, Habitat for Humanity, American Red Cross, and Catholic Relief Services.

Why do you do a Fifth Sunday collection? This special collection helps us raise funds to help the less fortunate in our community with bills like rent, utilities, medicine, clothing, groceries, and transportation to doctors and hospitals.

Does the Fifth Sunday collection cover your whole budget? No. Thankfully the parish supports us through other fundraisers such as our Christmas cookie sale, Fair Trade sales and other donations.

How can I help? You can help by being an active member. Meetings are held on the 3rd Friday of the month following the 8 a.m. Mass. You can also help by showing your financial support, sharing your talents, participating in fundraisers, bringing items for the First Sunday collection and also by your prayers.
